Air Traffic Controllers are like Pilots and I'm sure we think the same way with regards to professionalism, training, experience and safety.
Bottom line is that there is a chronic shortage of experienced Air Traffic Controllers and Experienced Pilots within the Australian Aviation Arena at the moment, predominately due to the rubbish salaries being paid in Australia to very experienced professionals - it's absolutely insulting!!!!!
The last major airline accident in Australia was near Lockhart River that involved a Metroliner in 2005, that was attributed to pilot error.
It's only a matter of time before we have a major airline accident in Australia due to inexperienced personnel and inadequate training, that will involve an aeroplane a lot larger than a 19 seat Metroliner!
