RAAus have released a statement.
“It’s incredibly sad to share with you that last Friday a 43 year-old member from WA lost his life in an accident involving an amateur built Jabiru SK, at Caiguna, WA. There was only one person onboard.
On behalf of RAAus and all our members, I send our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased pilot.
Disappointingly, the ATSB has once again decided to not investigate this accident and left it up to local police, in this remote part of the country, to establish the cause of the accident. RAAus has been engaged with police and is assisting where we can although as previously communicated with members, we will not be investigating due to the myriad of reasons shared with members previously.
In our review of this accident, any learnings will be actioned immediately and communicated with members.”
