Agreed JB
The sense of concern on the 4th floor is rapidly increasing beyond furrowed brows and wider eyes. It is jogging along nicely towards panic because the only solution is to pay up or not have the pilots to service the routes. Market forces have a way of over powering any potential loss of face and I predict that we have heard the last of the angry outbursts in the newspapers. The nonsence about trying to function with a few hundred pilots less is not possible or believed by those that have to staff the airline. The more bullets fired at the pilots in the news paper the more pilots decide it just isnt worth it and the faster this turns into a major crisis. Funny how the pilots are being blamed for trying to wreck the airline when it is all too obvious, even to the travelling public, that the wreckers are infact the noisy Ministers. Nobody gains by these adverse reports and threatening outbursts in the Straits Times, least of all SIA. The bottom line is that the 'ladies from the bridge club'who understand little about SIA's problems, would far rather be sitting in the back with a happy pilot up front than an angry one and this has to translate into lost customers and less profit. That is why the childish, vaguely understandable outbursts in the paper have to stop.
I think the SM's tame reporter, Rebecca 'Lemming', will be forced to stop fibbing to the public and things will begin to settle down from now in. If Im wrong, well all that stuff about going to the brink is just around the corner. None of the pilots are intimidated by illogical ministers any longer and most are resigned to leaving if they have to or staying if it all works out soon.
