How and ever, I don't think this should mean anything to you. A type rating with no job attached is throwing a lot of very good money down the drain because no airline will look at you without x hrs on type (usually 500 minimum). If anything you are more complicated than if they hired a cadet with no rating, because they'll have to unteach what you know and reteach their own SOPs.

Try smartlynx directly instead, not the best in the world but in your situation you obviously cannot be fussy. They do take older guys and will get you to 500 on type
Thank you for your post.

Yes I can see the flipsides of it all, but the major problem is that the cadet schemes aren't available to people my age. I've yet to hear of a 40+ pilot being selected. This is sadly configured only for the ones that are wet behind the ear in my opinion. I found out recently someone who applied to the same organisation as myself (same licences, same hours and actual lower average in exam scores) but lot younger was selected to join them and sadly I wasn't. It is what it is as they say...

I actually applied to SmartLynx but failed at interview stage (finger pointing upwards)...this is what lead me to BAA as they are training partner of theirs and they seem to have couple of affiliates that may be happy to take me on board.
