You can only get a licence conversion done whilst sponsored by an operator in Hong Kong.
The key point is what aircraft is on the “foreign” licence? The
type one wishes to convert their licence, must be one which, that aircraft type exists on the HKCAD aircraft register (type certification).
if not, then you’ll need to do a type rating.
You can only convert a licence subject to the terms specified by the CAD (Conversion Terms). That’ll mean, groups exams etc.
