Apologies, I may have misunderstood the original plans for the engine(s). It is a Wright Cyclone GR-1820-F52 according to their own website, sourced from the National Military Museum.
Edit: The builders themselves explained during an open day a while ago that this batch of engines was originally purchased to act as spares for the D.XXIs. I cannot verify that myself.
