What about (the)
CONCORDE...ooopps, I see
Amos has already listed it.
What a spoof machine, with its droop nose, sleek fuse, and amazing performance for an aircraft designed in the
1960's!!
BTW,
Zarg, the "Queen of the Skies" title was - from my hazy, long ago Ansett days...1978-1989 - awarded to the72. But then you probably pre-date me!!
The Diesel and the 72 were both pilots' dreams as far as "things" working (speedbrake effectiveness, flap/slat retraction speed...all the noise down the back) were concerned.
The 73-100 was the sports car model of the 73's - a hot little ship.
From a pilots' point of view, imo, McDonnell Douglas built aircraft for pilots - Boeing built them agriculturally...basically a "people mover".
