Moderation policies?

Looks like I've had two posts removed from the military aviation forum.

So I am mere SLF, but I thought I had made some valid points without including anything that isn't public knowledge, or purely historical. After all, how could I? And meanwhile I am sure that the "interested parties" would have downloaded my posts the instant they were published. Or have I misunderstood how moderation works? Every post needs approval before being publicly visible?

I've been reading and occasionally posting for over twenty years. I've been "cancelled" before.

I understand that this is meant to be a resource for professional pilots, which is why I mostly keep quiet.

It is *incredibly* frustrating to not know the "why" of a moderation - or that it has happened!

It would not be hard (I'm a programmer) to *notify* a poster if a post was cancelled. It would be trivial to let the poster know *why* it was removed. Obvs., a slight additional burden on the moderator. But one can imagine a drop-down box of reasons.

And then my posts are deleted from my own "my posts" list?

Surely it would only be polite to indicate that the posts were made, then cancelled?

The SLF on here provide a valuable input, giving engineering and legal (to name but two) perspectives.
