Might have been just the autopilot; an A320 type is fully capable of flying an approach to any runway if programmed to do so; doesn't need an ILS or any other ground based aid.
I've watched it done several times at Farnborough first in an A321 and later in an A320 and I had no ILS (hadn't yet been installed), I just monitored the approach using PAR and can verify each approach was stable and accurate..
