But I have to ask - do you know that he didn't want a flypast, or is that speculation?
He was, after all, a distinguished pilot, and, by all accounts, a great aviation person. So it seems a bit odd, at such an extraordinary public occasion, to have no airborne RAF representation. That is not, of course, to denigrate the excellence of the Queen's Colour Squadron and the Central Band of the RAF.
