Quite the contrary - the crew failed to address a straight forward problem - one that had reportedly occurred on previous flight.
ALL they needed to do was take manual control of the thrust levers to save the situation. The question is
why they didn't take the relatively simple steps necessary to save themselves (along with the aircraft and passengers).
Only the CVR can possibly reveal that answer.
