Don't forget there's the Nellis ranges where we fly Red Flag and do other things, and they can always use actual "threat" systems. Back in the day I saw several threats on my RHAW that were not Soviet bloc systems. Some really surprised me, but then we practiced sometimes with other country assets in the air and on the ground, most common were the Canadians and NATO folks.

Around here, the F-35's RHAW is so good that it discards cheap threat simulators and just presents the "real" ones on your display.
