A320 Type Rating with no circuits

Hi,

Hoping someone can assist in my 2 queries please.

Is there any point in doing a type rating on an A320 without doing the base training or circuits in the aircraft? I have no job to go to but thought about maybe getting a SFI Rating at the same time so as to be able to instruct.

Also, on an EASA Licence if no flying in the aircraft is done, is the rating in the licence still shown as "A320" or does it indicate a restriction due no actual aircraft flying?
