And to answer your questions. Yes, it's just the same initial 'request zone transit' call.
Just make sure you are familiar with the VRPs, as they may request you take a different route from your preferred one.
Also for that class E north of Glasgow.
Both Edinburgh and Glasgow have listening squawks, 2620 and 0440 respectively, so I'd probably just dial in the frequency and squawk for whoever I'm closest to and listen out, unless I specifically wanted something from them.
