The CC have indeed been working very hard - you can see the bruises where they've been hitting their heads against easyJet's brick wall!
What is the difference between 50% membership and 80% membership? Either the Company want to make things better for their pilots or they don't - is somebody suggesting that high union membership is going to "force" them to negotiate? And at the end of the day, the only real card a union has is the threat of strike action, and this is hardly likely to happen over, for example, crew water is it? If I didn't have crew water I wouldn't depart, union or no union, it's as simple as that!
I'm not knocking Balpa, our reps have given many hours of their free time to making things better, and it's greatly appreciated, but not much will change until the management start treating their staff as a resource instead of a commodity.
