Surely BALPA are representing non-members to a certain extent in that the results of negotiations are applicable to all pilots, whether members or not. Its not rocket science that with more members, the council will be able to negotiate from a stronger position. With no union at all, what then?? However, if there is a perception this time (real or not) that we get shafted, then I think there will be a few people asking themselves if the subs are worth the legal protection (insurance) they provide. Good luck in the negotiations I say & to any non-members get your wallets out!
