the water is in the big scheme a small thing - they're allowed to win small things especially when in such a case the whole idea was ludicrous anyway. When it comes to the big issues RW will not give way.
despite last winter being the managements last chance to sort rosters for this year or else we need a rostering agreement, now surprise surprise we are not fighting for a roster agreement but discussing a management initiative to change the flight time rules to make us work harder as this is the only way RW will give us any reasonable roster pattern. We should be digging in for a roster agreement now which has contractual obligations on the company as well as us.
The last PC never promised to look after non members but if you go back 3 years when we voted on whether or not to have BALPA recognition, I distinctly remember campaigners for BALPA some of which have been or are now on the PC, telling us that this would be for all of us. You see we all had a vote member or not at that point. A bit like politicians once elected campaign promises are meaningless.
