Regarding the medical, in France as well as Italy CC have to undergo the same medical examination as pilots every two years (every year after 40) and have a professional licence called CSS (Certificat Securité Sauvetage) in France and Certificazione in Italy. But don't worry too much about AZ medical: their eyesight requirements are much stricter than the legal requirements. If you have a doubt call the IML and ask them if your eyesight would be ok by their rules.
