FAA Seaplane rating C172 or C182

Hi everyone.

Hope you all staying safe during these tough times.

Got a question.

Im looking into getting my seaplane rating but debating whether to do it in a 172 or 182 obviously big price difference I'm FAA commercial SEL with high performance endorsement.

So if I do the seaplane rating in the 172 I cant find anywhere in the FAR/AIM about whether or not my high performance endorsement allows me to fly a seaplane with a power planet greater than 200hp.

So can anyone shed some light on this please. if I still need to get checked out in a seaplane with a power plant greater than 200hp then might as well do the rating in the 182.

Thank you for your time and look forward to hearing from you guys.

Have a great weekend.

Regards

Clinton
