I was actually a semi-regular through all these periods; I recall the standard BE Dash 8, and also flights on their 146, but not stopping at IOM; there have been a range of arrangements over time.
I do recall returning from BHD on the small Dash 8 when a colleague was coming back on BMI to Heathrow on a 320. We made consecutive departures from Belfast, and I droned along in the Dash. Straight in to LCY, Gate 2, straight out, got a cab to 10 minutes down the road, walked in, phoned colleague - who said they were only just taxying in to stand at Heathrow after n times round Bovingdon and a huge loop which actually passed over LCY at 5,000 feet.
