In all seriousness, the adversarial die has been cast long ago. Almost every new pilot and every new manager turn up on day 1 with a reasonable attitude towards win-win outcomes. Unfortunately the weight of history progressively corrodes and hardens the attitude towards an us-against-them mentality on both sides. Fuelling the mix, is the heady bonus short-term culture that sees grabbing a dollar now as so much more valuable than saving $10 in a couple of years time.
Pilots resent the bonuses, watching managers throwing proverbial floorboards on the fire to power the boiler today, and consequently chaff at the bit to show the executives a lesson or two.
It would take at least a generation of patient love and attention from management to begin to heal this thing. The only other alternatively a complete reset from zero. Even then, I'm not sure a new management team could resist the temptation plunder, and begin thus the vicious cycle again.
