There are loads of opportunities at the moment in the US. I converted my license 9 years ago, and it took me about two weeks. I was however working for a European flight school based in Florida so I already had experience of airspace etc. I would say a month is a good time frame.

The regional companies in the states will only hire you with 1500 hours. Less if you went to specific flight training organisations within the USA. I would suggest you find a way to build hours either in Europe or the USA beforehand.

Don’t belittle your easa license however. The pilot lifestyle in Europe is far better than it is in the states, plan to build hours and experience and then go back!! I’m in the hold pool for EasyJet and jet2 because I simply couldn’t handle the lifestyle any longer.

Happy to help if you have any questions.
