No deal has been done so as it currently stands AFAP has failed at the negotiations. It appears to have complicated matters by setting the expectations of what it could negotiate at a level that cannot be achieved. Why are you so sensitive about this point? Are you one of the negotiators?

Again sounds very much like someone has complicated matters by setting the expectations of what could be negotiated at a level that cannot be achieved.

3% is already on the table at a time when CPI is 1.7%. Its not like they have offered nothing.

There is no rebuttal to this argument. It is fact. If one group gets 7.5% then everyone else will be asking for 7.5%.

Exactly, listen to your own advice here.

Its an enterprise bargaining system, not an industry bargaining system. This has its strengths and weaknesses. Under this system, professionals are not paid the same for doing the same job in different organisations. That is the whole premise behind enterprise bargaining. Different organisations can pay different rates for the same jobs as long as they meet the minimum requirements. Your working for a "Sunfish" enterprise and that has implications that cannot be ignored.

Good luck.
