Am I correct in that your bid period is 6 weeks? Not that one wants to fly max hours in a year but call it 800 hours allowing for sim and the current etc.

800 / 46 = 17 trips a year or in your 6 weeks a maximum of 3 trips.

Now is each trip is 6 days, that’s 18 days duty for 6 weeks. Would that not be enough recovery time between trips? You could become a marathon runner with the time off or an alcoholic down the local, personal choice.

Yes would also have to factor in additional sims for landing currency.

What am I missing? Yes brutal time zone changes, jet lag. However work 18 days in 6 weeks?

I have probably over simplified. Now ducking for cover.

Oh would you not fight fo say it’s sunrise flying only, no other Asia trips, etc?

Sorry your Totally wrong. You used the full duty hours and that’s not how’s it’s calculated. It’s also an 8 week roster so that’s also incorrect.

On the Long haul contract it’s the longer of
The flight hours
The flight hours plus a night credit for back of clock arduous duty.
or
MDC of 5:30 a day. MDC won’t bump up the credit on Sunrise as trips won’t be long enough and flight hours high.

The 787 contract has night credits on Asia flying and MDC on longer patterns like JFK via LAX or long slips in LAX or SFO.
It is pure flight hours on shorter trips PER-LHR and BNE-ORD or any USA slips less 60 hours. On these types of sectors as a 787 pilot we will have to fly an extra trip a roster as we lost the night fatigue credit. On a HKG or a JFK with a LAX stopover or a long slip LAX or SFO we get the same credit as the 747/380.
Some win some lose. Sunrise under a 787 style contract would lose on every sector as it’s all Ultra long haul.
