In the late 70s we had a quarter-mile drag race between a Mirage IIIO and a Lamborghini Countach. Lambo quicker off the mark as the Mirage couldn't light the A/B while still on the brakes, but pipped at the post by the Mirage.
Same story, lightest aircraft, scrawniest pilot, minimum fuel. The Lambo owner thought that was a bit unfair, but anyway he took the loose change out of his pocket and had a piddle. I was flying the helicopter and got left at the start, poor old UH-1B didn't have much acceleration.
