Returning to EK

Hi all,

I recently met an ex EK pilot by chance. He told me he is thinking about going bak to EK but wasn't sure if he has to apply as a new joiner or what. I told him I had no idea about how to proceed.
Anyone has an idea about who to ask or where is it written?
PD: He left in good terms.
