European aviation is different to American aviation. I wouldn't have minded to start my career on small Bizjet like a Citation, or doing Medevac, BUT these hours are logged for nothing over here, as nearly every airline wants time on at least MTOW >10t. I am not particularly interested in "debating" which system produces better pilots (it's one of those subjects not worth debating since people are inclined to defend what they already think) but do try to understand them without too much judgement. How does one explain a system of pilot supply/demand that devalues experience like "bizjet/medevac route" ? Many biz jets are very sophisticated machines providing quite relevant, valuable experience to an airline environment.
