You learn something new every day - wasn't aware of the Vigilante's bomb bay
The A-5 was in the fleet at the time of my basic training. It was said that the reason it failed in the bomber role was that upon ejection the bomb tended to follow the aircraft in trail. Perhaps a bit of jocularity rather than fact.
