I don't know. When I was planning for a career change to aviation, I decided it'd be best if I got the
PR before I started flight training because I never wanted to expose myself to the uncertainty where all the time and money I've invested lies in the hands of my flight school - see how if they don't want you OR you don't like working as an instructor, you have no choice but to go back?
My 2 cents would be to try to get the
PR before you log your first hour. I know not a lot of people can do this but it's so much better in terms of downside risk.
