Hi Capricorn - thanks for the info,we did not have time to visit the pier unfortunately,we had decided to use trains to travel around. We flew into Fiumicino - took the train to Anguillara and stayed at an apartment near La Mucca Golosa restaurant just to the east of the museum.Because we were told there were no taxis available locally at that time of year we had to walk to the museum, the next day we had walked to Vigna di Valle railway station and then took the train(s) to Trento. From Trento we took a train to Venice and flew home from there.Had we known about the lack of taxis and the rail strike we probably would have hired a car .
As I posted previously - the Vigna di Valle aircraft museum is definitely one of the best we have ever visited - it is a credit to the Italian Air Force.
