The aircraft involved was a a Jodel D140 F-PMGV on a mountain rating training flight out of the altiport at Megève. I’ve flown it many times and landed on the Rutor glacier (Ruitor in French) just a couple of weeks ago. There are often helicopters sharing the same airspace and there’s never been an issue - in the Alps we coordinate using position reports on the mountain frequency of 130.00 and over the border in Italy we use the chopper frequency. Italian media are reporting the the instructor survived but that the two others on board are still missing. SAR mission resumes at 8 am CET.
