Eastern hold all the commercial cards and will have made this decision entirely independent of Flybe. They just use the brand for sales and distribution purposes.
Flybe operate the LCY-Aberdeen route, twice daily. Even if Eastern (branded as Flybe) have devised the idea to stop at Newcastle, Flybe will have been involved.
