I used this route a few times back in the day and it was about 50% full each time, but as with all Eastern fares it was ridiculously expensive, the benefit of the slightly shorter journey time, once you factor in security times, were easily offset by the advantage of 1st class rail with inclusive food, wi-fi etc. The quoted fares of £80 in the press release could make it viable, but the J41 is still an awful aircraft so the train will definitely be more comfortable! Hope it works though as it is good to have options.
