I understand where you are coming from too, but my comment was a jibe at the poster who suggested the salary was low. Having spent 8 years in a management role in that organisation - directly involved in the selection and recruitment of new pilors - I think I’m entitled to the odd facetious comment.
The salary was low as far as I was concerned. I was earning more than that when I applied and only applied because I (like many others) thought that the remuneration would be far more. I was also working a 2 week on / 2 week off roster and the BSP job meant moving to Brunei on a permanent roster. Having visited Brunei to have a look and stay with military friends there I was not impressed with the country or culture and knew that I would not be happy there.
Hedski is correct about UK pay cyclic. I should know.
