Probably just a personal preference thing.
I like my runways to be longer, flat, in clear areas, away from forests, outside National Parks (where people have a reasonable right to enjoy nature without undue mechanical activity) and within easy reach of rescue facilities such as Fire & Ambulance. Other people may well think that this place is ideal. It would be a funny old world if we were all the same, but it's a funny old world anyway.
As an airfield location, this site seems (to me) to have nothing going for it at all. North Yorkshire is not exactly starved of suitable locations.
