I think you may win the award for ignorance Dirk.

The safety record considering the numbers of demanding sectors flown per pilot and for each of the 400+ airframes speaks for itself. Furthermore, their pilots are snapped up by the so-called legacy airlines and competitors alike, so few knowledgable people see FR pilots as 'lower class' like you do. At least obtaining a command at FR is after completing a rigourous 3 year study programme, ground school, sim and line training rather than based primarily on seniority or the whims of the CP...

Although you insinuate that the insatiable demand for pilots means standards are allowed to slip, in terms of upgrades you might find pass rates have actually fallen.
