Like the thousands of QA staff they sacked a few years ago, before their upgrades started screwing up masses of computer.
The fundamental problem with Windows is that it was pretty much done ten years ago, and we could have just had security and feature updates on XP. Everything else since then has just been fiddling for fiddling's sake.
to a large extent that applies across the board - airliners, cars, TV's etc - marginal gains for vast outlays and occasional disruption
But people (or some of them) like a shiny NEW version of something that has given decent service for years....
