I cannot understand the objection to calling the Typhoon a Tiffie. We’ve had quite a few nicknames for our aircraft. .

Meteor = Meatbox
Canberra = Cranberry
Belfast = Belslow
Hercules = Fat Albert
Vulcan = Tin Triangle

I’m sure there are a few others.
