Mismanagement
Wow! While it was obvious they've lost the plot a while back, this is truly astounding!
First, not to compensate for the contractual lost step from last year is unforgiveable. Even after the 2008 recession, we were compensated the following year when the economy recovered.
Second, the $1 per hour increase to hourly pay amounts to one tank of gas a month at a gas station. It's peanuts, not an amount that will stop the mass exodus.
Thirdly, to publish this gibberish so early in May is very foolish. It gives people 3 weeks to contemplate and action the resignation by June 1st.
Those who are contemplating it know very well that if you have kids in school, June 1 is the date you must resign in order not to pay back the
prorated education allowance. So expect 100+ resignation on that date.
Other changes while welcome are only company self serving. The age for command is strictly because we don't have any more candidates. The jumpseat is only because we can't afford to get pilots stuck on leave.
