It would appear this is correct. Despite loud protests from the usual protagonists, Qantas and their 'stream leader' are using the established narrative of 'shortage' of qualified applicants at Jetconnect and Network Aviation to craft a narrative of structural supply. It would take someone of extremely nearsightedness or indeed nefarious motivation to to not see where this leads. This will include skilled shortage visa extensions on Qantas 737.

Qantas management will do everything to preserve the labour unit cost where it is. "Parking aircraft" is all part of the kabuki theatre.

Interested readers may want to consider the Public Service Obligations and ask themselves if Qantas link regional services would fit the definition under Essential Services Legislation Act 1988 No 4 Part 1 (Preliminary)
