Windows Won't Recognize My ADSL Modem

Yet another in a spate of recent difficulties!

I am using Dell Dimension, W98SE, with AOL. Originally, I was using the integral 56K Aztech MDP 3900V-W Modem via a second BT line for internet access.

I then upgraded to AOL Broadband which involved installing a BT Voyager USB DSL Modem and ditching the second line. This has worked flawlessly from the day I upgraded the system.

The problem seems to be that the Windows part of my system does not recognize this modem and resists all my attempts to 'install' it via the Install Wizard. When I click on the 'Have Disk' prompt and put the AOL supplied Drivers disk into the 'D' drive, it comes up with a denial that anything is going on. The result of this is simply that I cannot send or receive faxes like wot I used to!

One suggestion is that I should physically remove the old modem from the computer.

Any ideas will be gratefully received - the simpler the better!

Many thanks,
Cheers,
mcdhu
