The final battle scenes were filmed in the old London Docklands during the regeneration period.
That was because Stanley Kubrick wouldn't fly, so he filmed most of his movies 'close to home'.
Really enjoyed R Lee in Mail Call (it was on the History Channel over here - back when the History Channel was mainly interested in history and not cheesy reality shows).
