There was one in the States in the 70's simply there to sign purchase orders for load nets, when needed which was infrequently if I remember correctly.

There used to be an RAF operated Piper Chieftain in Bermuda doing drug patrols, single RAF pilot and Eng accompanied posting. Friend at time got the Eng posting.

The guy trying to storm the place wasn't exactly the cleverest in the pack, attack a military base and then attack the defended main gate.
