For the first time I find myself saying that I feel fortunate to have worked for one of QF’s contract companies. Over the course of many EBA negotiations I have been subjected to numerous and varied fear campaigns designed to keep pilots hungry and nervous. The response from pilots has been a mix of capitulation, mild mannered acceptance and outright exasperation and anger. The result has ranged from a smooth transition to the next worst EBA to PIA. The one constant has been.........nothing has changed. QF have neither punished pilots nor withdrawn aircraft from the operation. They’ve beaten their chest and forced the contract company to beat their chest, but that’s about it. Stand fast, the only thing more expensive than a fuel guzzling plane is a stationary one!
