Ah call me old fashioned and stuck in my ways, but when I first started flying there was always a Purser, No2 and then the main/junior crew and it always worked perfectly well, so why are the airlines changing it?
I am not saying new entrant crew are not capable of managing the bars and monies, aswell as being incharge down the back, but I do think some level of experience is needed, not to mention the extra work involved!
However, I did once work for a foreign charter company (see separate thread) and the person with the most experience went as the Senior and anybody went as the 2, but all crew recruited had flown for a considerable amount of time and even then counting 15 bar carts and tallying the money was a nightmare, probably because no training on the bars were given!!!
