Have a rello going on trip shortly. I've bought him an ipad as his old Samsung Android was too far past it and the ipad is easier to button-push (don't worry, I hate the things myself!

). The main drama on a previous trip was emailing: we just couldn't get his local email provider to work properly over the ship's wifi (which connects to the net, apparently, via some obscure server in east woop woop). We eventually got him onto Gmail, and that worked, connection-wise.
I have therefore installed Gmail on the ipad but now he wants the option of sending group emails. You guessed it:
- Gmail on ipad (and Android) doesn't send group emails as far as I can tell;
- ipad mail
may be able to send group emails (via icloud contacts?);
- I can't "install" the gmail account in apple mail because it says "Gmail is already installed on this device", even if I uninstall Gmail off the ipad;
- I've tried Mailshot but I get it to do what I want.
Ironically, the Samsung email app can send groupies!
The only thing I can think of from here is to wipe the ipad and try to install the Gmail server details in the ios mail app with the hope that I can group-email with the Apple icloud contacts.
Perhaps there is another ios email app I can use that will do group emails?
I would be grateful if anybody could offer suggestions to resolve this dilemma.
