The last we heard of LH was from the MD at our last pilot management meeting and as I have stated, at present we have no plans for future long haul. Monarch will be a SH schedule airline and as the 300 and 757's go by 2014 we will be growing our SH fleet. It is widely known that the senior guys have stated we need around 6 decent LH aircraft to run a profitable LH business and after many years trying this has just not happened. Fact. We do however have another run of pilot management meetings before Christmas but I will be amazed if the head shed suddenly states we have found these aircraft and LH here we come. If any Monarch guys read this the same way or would like to correct me then
Lease do, I don't want to give over duff info...over to you

Wont say any more about Monarch not continuing with long haul but just to answer the last question, Monarch dual fleet so if we got rid of the 330's our FTE will not change.

All 330 crews are MFF, the recruitment is for an overall increase in fleet size.
Senior FO's from the 330 who are getting their commands this year are being replaced by more junior FO's who will have to commit to 2 years MFF before being eligible for command training on the 320/1. This is causing a few problems for some of them, but it's not such a bad problem to have to resolve in the present climate.
Make of this news what you will :-)

A British Monarch Captain was in Freetown recently but is now back in the UK.
The rumoured sighting of a Monarch 330 are just that!
Don't expect to see Monarch aircraft there too often in the future.
But ya never know.

So... this is a brave assumption to make, but looking around, there's a few guys from the Thomson interview pool who are saying they've been offered jobs with another UK operator - and Monarch are about the only one at the moment who have offered anything recently? ... Could it possibly be that things are still moving on this a little bit?
I did hear a rumour of a few guys from the holdpool getting the nudge for an April start too?
Anyone know anything more than idle speculation?

Every time there's an update to this post, my heart races!
I recently had some correspondence with a lady from HR, the outlook seemed positive but no further details on dates at this stage.

Supposedly all training courses are filled up until April. Assuming there are more possitions from May onwards and many of the people interviewed would have to give 3 months notice, that would mean interviews around January, so you would think people would start hearing things soon.
That's just me being optimistic, not based on any new knowledge.
