Monarch aircraft movements

Just noticed G-OZBM depart BHX heading SE and climbing to a high cruising level. Destination not known.

Hotel Tango 4th Oct 2017 22:12

Level at FL370. More E than SE actually.

Hotel Tango 4th Oct 2017 22:57

G-OZBL, also out of BHX, now following behind BM.

pabely 4th Oct 2017 22:58

How does that work at FL370 when the RVSM approval becomes invalid when the AOC was withdrawn. The aircraft is no longer on the Monarch ops spec and no longer maintained under a maintenance program.

crewmeal 5th Oct 2017 05:28

My guess is because it becomes a private flight. The aircraft has its cert of airworthness so legally it can fly privately once all the agencies have been paid.

Lew747 5th Oct 2017 05:55

Reckon its monarch flight crew or a 3rd party operating these flights?

crewmeal 5th Oct 2017 06:14

It won't be a Monarch crew unless they paid cash in hand as Monarch Airlines has ceased business. It'll be more likely be pilots hired by the lessor.

That makes sense.

Job Air at Ostrava advertise "Aircraft touch-ups, partial painting for neutralizing of your aircraft or complete painting into new liveries".

I wonder whether LTN is a little more complicated with debts owed to Airport / Council in respect to other things.

Well you know nothing about private ops and RVSM

Regardless of private or AOC, an aircraft's RVSM approval is cancelled once it comes off the operators ops spec as it is no longer maintained under an approved maintenance program. Same applies to the C of A. If not maintained by a CAMO or on an ops spec, the C of A is invalid.

There will be some Monarch crew on the books still possibly - kept on and paid by the Administrator. Certain positions are required to keep the AOC going. Or as you say some cash in hand

Thank you for enlightening me regarding private ops. I bow to your superior knowledge :D

FL370 Officeboy 5th Oct 2017 18:30

I'm led to believe that (ex) Monarch pilots are being hired on an ad-hoc basis by the administrator to fly the aircraft back to the lessors and filing their own flight plans

student88 5th Oct 2017 19:18

The leasing companies are using their own pilots to ferry the aircraft. No Monarch pilots are doing this job.

Mr @ Spotty M 5th Oct 2017 20:02

All a/c are departing using a permit to fly as it has already been reported they no longer have a valid C of A.

In Mon I Trust 5th Oct 2017 20:33

G-OZBR MAN - OSR
G-OZBZ MAN - OSR
G-ZBAF MAN - TBA (heading towards Ireland)

More of the fleet leaving

If not owned by the airline how can they be held for a debt?
