Agreed. However most airport authorities face budget and zoning constraints. Decades old airports grew "organically", and the original planners never envisioned the capacity the airports serve now....

I doubt that yet another video display would be...

I doubt that yet another video display would be useful - an alerting system much like those fitted to cars perhaps even with the add on of automatic application of brakes would be useful.
