SMS software

I know an Austrian company which developed a software package managing your SMS. Even the Austrian NAA Austro Control recommends that provider. PM me and will provide you with more details and an email adress to write to for an offer. brgds

My employer has just started to use AQD:

Superstructure Group - AQD :: Overview

Seems OK on what I've seen so far.

Emirates, Finnair and the UKCAA all use Q-Pulse. for their Aviation Safety Management Software.

I have used both AQD and Q-Pulse.

In my opinion there are pluses and minuses to both systems atnd a lot will boil down to personal preference.

Q-Pulse was originally developed as a QMS tool. Version 5 is far superior to Version 4 and is great for QMS, while Gael have also now developed a Flight Occurrence Reporting tool. However this is in its infancy & in my opinion further improvements could be made.

AQD until recently, had the advantage of having a single system to look after QMS and Flight Safety data. Recent enhncements make it look like Microsoft Office and make it more user friendly. There is also an interface with Aerobytes FDM software but you have to pay a little extra. The main limitation with AQD is that the checklists are built in Microsoft Access so some of the fields have character limitations. I am told this can be overcome & intend to get the IT department on the case. The Risk Matrix can be configured as you wish.

If you really want to do SMS Risk Analysis properly you might like to have a look at BowTie XP. Unfortunately for bolt on tools are not great.

So there you have it, in an aviation environment maybe AQD just shades it, but I would recoomend you consider both.

Thumbs up Quality SMS Software

Hi Guys

In addition to AQD & QPulse, it would be worth your while taking a look at OSMS, developed and supported by Omnisafe International (OmniSafe International Home). Ive worked with the product extensively in my role as Safety Manager in 2 seperate organisations and it really is a fantastic product for SMS. I know it competes really well against AQD & QPulse both on price and functionality. It is extremely comprehensive but easy to use.

It is a 100% secure web based system which means nothing has to get installed on your pc/notebook and can be accessed from any location. If you are anything like me and are always travelling, this is a big bonus.

I know that Omnisafe has an installation base with the OSMS product across many regions worldwide and the installation, training and product support is second to none. I recall when we went through the selection criteria for an SMS, these guys went above and beyond to ensure it met our requirements.

Just thought id share my experience with all of you and provide an alternative to extremely expensive SMS systems which are equally as difficult to use.
